The Laughing Trunk first began in the year 2000 when Marnie Clyne, a Child and Youth Worker combined her passion for creating with her experience in working with children and families.

 

She started hosting creative birthday parties at people’s homes and planning children’s programs for events and festivals. With a strong belief in fostering children’s creativity as a learning tool, it was always her dream to open a Creative Learning Centre that would allow children to explore arts, crafts, drama and science in a hands on way.

 

In August 2005, The Laughing Trunk Inc. began the plans of expansion and it opened its first Creative Learning Centre on April 1, 2006 in the heart of Churchill Meadows in Mississauga. The staff at the Centre are a talented group, including an ECE, Certified Teachers, Child and Youth Worker, Artists, and others, all with related experience and high standards in working with children.

 

The Centre offers a variety of Art Workshops for children ages 2 to 12, March/Winter/Summer Camps, local PD camps, Birthday Parties, Part Time Morning/Afternoon Programs, Afterschool Activities, School Programs, Play Groups, and Corporate/Community Events. In addition to our services we retail quality products for loot bags, educational toys, craft kits and costumes.

 

The Laughing Trunk Inc. believes that allowing children to explore and develop their creativity through arts and crafts forsters life long learning, improves confidence and strengthens academic and social skill development.
