It is a great time to be a kid! At The Laughing Trunk Inc, learning and fun now go hand in hand! Children aged 1 to 12 can discover their creative talents through participating in a variety of unique creative art workshops. Our hands-on approach encourages learning & helps children take pride in their creative choices.

With limited art resources available in school The Laughing Trunk Inc. provides children with the opportunity to get creative and hands on with their learning. Whether at one of our centres or us coming to you, are programs deliver dynamic results, the children amaze themselves with their newly uncovered talents. Creative Drop-In Time
A time for parents and children to come together to experience creative expression through art stations, painting, dress-up and more. This is an unstructured and parent supervised time. Drop-In times are
Monday – Friday from 9-4 until June 30, 2011. Cost: $10.00 per child. Cost includes all materials from craft stations – seasonal project options presented. Upgraded craft options available.
Part Time Morning and Afternoon Program from ages 2 ½ – 5
This creative learning program will include weekly themes that will focus on encouraging creativity and self expression while learning preschool fundamentals. Small class size.
Monday to Friday from 8:00am-10:00am 0r 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:00pm – Chooses any two, three, or five days.
Afterschool Program for school aged children
During this program children will be offered assistance with their homework and enjoy making creative projects that will focus on encouraging self expression and reinforcing their learning while having fun. Arranged pick-up from Churchill Meadows Public School or St. Faustina Elementary Schools available.
School dismissal up to 6:00pm

Children will enjoy singing songs, playing instruments and creating works of art. Each week new activities will be introduced and children will have an opportunity to use the parachute. Parent Participation 8 weeks

Imagination Train (Ages 3 to 6)
All aboard!! Each week our imagination will take us to a different destination as we join in the story. Fridays from 9:00-10:00
Jan & Feb themes: Space, Pirate, Dinosaur, Circus, Western, etc.
Cost: $9.00 each
Discovery Zone (Ages 1-2)
Participant in song and sensory activities together with your child and begin to discover the little wonders of the world.

The Art of Science (Ages 3 to 6)
Explore the wonderful world of science through hands-on experiments, from colours to rainbows to how a plant grows to volcanoes and tornados we will discover it all and create amazing take home projects.
8 weeks – Tuesdays, Jan 31 – March 27, 2012 from 1:30-2:15 Cost: $69.00
The Art of Math (Ages 4 to 6)
Children will enjoy learning the strands of math as they explore how math is all around us. Concepts will be reinforced while playing games, singing songs and creating projects.

Afterschool Activities / Lessons
Learn French as a 2nd Language
Once a week for 12 weeks this language program will introduce children to the French language through hands-on and interactive activities. The older ages can also bring French homework to get assistance with. Songs, games and crafts will be used to help reinforce concepts and language learned.
Ages 4-6 on Mondays starting January 16 from 4:00-5:00pm
Ages 6-8 (For children in French Immersion) on Mondays starting January 16 from 5:00-6:00pm

Acting Out (Ages 6 to 10)
This program offers drama instruction that will help children improve on their co-operative and listening skills as they learn the basics of performing including stage direction. 8 weeks Mondays, Feb 7-Apr. 11

Junior Artist Club (Ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 10)
This 10 week program will have children learning, exploring and creating masterpieces through painting, sculpting and more. At the end of the 12 weeks the children will put on an art show for their families.

Learn to Draw (Ages 6 to 10)

Junior Chefs (Ages 5 to 
Children will enjoy learning about kitchen etiquette while making fun things to eat. Cool crafts and activities based on the Canada Food guide and learning about place setting will all be part of the fun. 8 weeks Tuesdays from Jan. 17-March 6 from 4:00-4:45pm Cost: $64.00
Life Skills Series (Ages 5-6 and Ages 7-9)
Giving children the essential tools to succeed in life. This series will provide interactive and practical experiences for the children to get hands-on and discover their full potential. Lead by a Child and Youth Worker. 10 week program will cover communication, problem solving and bullying. Tuesdays, January 17-March 27 from 4:30-5:30pm (age groups will be divided) Cost: $99.00
Junior Author Workshop (Ages 6 to 12)
Write your own book!! Children will create their own hardcover storybook during an 10 series workshop. Children will be guided through imagining, planning and creating their own story. The end result a story book that will last a lifetime!!
